Our Preps will be participating in their fist CROSS COUNTRY event next Wednesday afternoon (May 6), and the excitement is definitely building!!
Let’s hope the weather is favourable.
On the day, please ensure that your child is wearing appropriate footwear and that they have a bottle of water.
We are also encouraging students to come dressed in their house colours. Please don’t worry if your child doesn’t know which house they are in – they will be informed early next week.

Our Prep students will be visiting the Mother’s day stall on Friday 8th May, where they will be able to purchase small gifts for their much loved Mums. Placing money in a named envelope, is a good idea, so that it can be handed to the class teachers for safe keeping until it is needed:)
SIMILARITIES and DIFFERENCES
As part of our Unit Of Inquiry, students have been asked to consider how they are similar and different to other people around the world.
We appreciate you taking the time to chat with your child about this and consider the ways in which they are similar and different. We will be investigating this idea further in class over the coming weeks.
In Maths, we are continuing to develop our understanding of number and are also finding out about
We will be learning about measuring length, mass/weight, capacity and temperature.
Mrs Vitale has had put us to work, measuring the tables in our classrooms for a faux project she is undertaking…..and let’s just say – we have already learnt a lot about measuring and how we might go about it!
In Literacy, we are excited about launching a parent helper’s program, aimed at supporting our Preps to further develop their Literacy skills.
A notice will be coming home soon, asking for interested parents to come in and participate in a little workshop, so please keep an eye out for it’s arrival in your child’s message bag.
In Reading, we are developing our bank of reading strategies by focussing on making connections to texts and solving words.
In Writing, we are learning about Narratives and trying to improve our writing by choosing an individual goal to work towards.
It is going to be a busy term with excursions and special events planned
&
learning goals to achieve.
